Heavy Duty Technician
Location: Grande Prairie, AB
Position: Heavy Duty Technician

Northern Repair Ltd. is currently seeking a Heavy Duty Technician to join our dynamic team. If you’re experienced with heavy equipment, take pride in quality workmanship, and thrive in a safety-first environment — we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty trucks and equipment (on-site and in the field)
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Document all repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks accurately
- Ensure work is completed in compliance with safety and environmental standards
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician (or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice)
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Safety certifications (First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS, etc.) are considered an asset

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication on heavy equipment and components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition
- Work independently or with a team in shop and field settings
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Welder or 2nd–4th Year Apprentice preferred
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Safety certifications (First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS) are an asset
